Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and materials required.
  • Lay bricks, concrete blocks, stone, and other masonry units according to design and building codes.
  • Mix mortar, grout, and concrete to specified consistencies.
  • Cut and trim masonry units to fit around openings or at corners, using hand or power tools.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of tools and equipment, including trowels, hammers, chisels, levels, and power saws.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for masonry work, ensuring proper adhesion.
  • Inspect finished masonry work for quality, alignment, and adherence to standards.
  • Collaborate with other construction professionals and team members to ensure project completion.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work site.
  • Mentor and guide apprentices or less experienced workers.
