Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough research on local news topics, current events, and human-interest stories to identify compelling angles and gather factual information.
- Assist senior journalists and producers in scriptwriting, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and adherence to editorial guidelines for broadcast.
- Perform basic field reporting duties, including capturing b-roll footage, conducting interviews with diverse sources, and gathering on-the-ground information.
- Contribute to live and recorded broadcasts by preparing concise reports and delivering them clearly, confidently, and engagingly.
- Fact-check all information, sources, and statistics rigorously to maintain the highest standards of journalistic integrity and avoid misinformation.
- Support the production team in various capacities, including logging footage, preparing graphics, and managing teleprompter scripts.
- Engage with social media platforms to promote stories, monitor trending topics, and interact with the audience to foster community engagement.
- Learn to operate basic broadcasting equipment, including cameras, audio recorders, and editing software, under the supervision of experienced staff.
