Job Description

As an Entry Level CAD Designer at Career.zycto in Wormans Mill, Frederick, you will play a crucial role in bringing innovative concepts to life through precise technical drawings and models. Key Responsibilities

  • Create, modify, and manage 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings based on sketches, specifications, and verbal instructions.
  • Assist senior designers and engineers in developing detailed design documentation for various projects.
  • Ensure all designs and drawings adhere to company standards, industry specifications, and project requirements.
  • Perform dimensional checks and verification of drawings for accuracy and completeness.
  • Revise existing drawings and models as necessary to reflect design changes or updates.
  • Maintain organized and accessible digital design files and project documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams to understand design intent and integrate feedback.
  • Participate in design review meetings, offering insights and learning from experienced professionals.
  • Stay updated with the latest CAD software features, tools, and industry best practices.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in at least one major CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit).
  • Strong understanding of drafting principles, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in design work.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Basic knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes relevant to design.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and a willingness to learn new technologies and processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Design, Architectural Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with specific industry standards (e.g., ASME, ISO, ANSI).
  • Experience with rendering software or simulation tools is a plus.
