Key Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models for various projects.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers, architects, and project managers to understand project requirements and design intent.
  • Review and revise drawings based on feedback, design changes, and site conditions.
  • Maintain organized drawing files, documentation, and drawing registers.
  • Prepare bills of materials (BOMs) and quantities from CAD drawings.
  • Assist in the preparation of project documentation, reports, and presentations.
  • Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or similar software to a high standard.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the design department.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D and 3D).
  • Strong understanding of engineering and/or architectural drawing principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications, blueprints, and design sketches.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, comfortable in a collaborative environment.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards (e.g., BS, ISO).

Preferred Qualifications

  • HNC/HND or a Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with other CAD software such as Revit, SolidWorks, MicroStation, or Inventor.
  • Prior experience in a specific sector (e.g., structural, mechanical, civil engineering, MEP).
  • Knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM) principles and processes.
  • A professional portfolio showcasing previous CAD work.
