Key Responsibilities
- Assist the 1st and 2nd Camera Assistants with daily tasks, including setting up and tearing down camera equipment.
- Ensure all camera gear (lenses, batteries, media, tripods, monitors) is prepped, cleaned, and organized.
- Manage and track camera inventory, ensuring all items are accounted for before, during, and after shoots.
- Assist with the secure transportation of camera equipment to and from various set locations.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the camera truck/van and equipment cases.
- Shadow senior camera department members to observe and learn best practices in camera operation and maintenance.
- Support data wrangling processes, ensuring media is properly labeled, backed up, and handled according to protocols.
- Anticipate team needs on set, proactively offering assistance to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Adhere strictly to safety guidelines and company policies on set.
- Be punctual and prepared for all scheduled shoots and prep days.
Required Skills
- Strong interest and foundational knowledge in film production and camera technology.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
- Proactive and eager to learn, with a positive attitude.
- Physical stamina to lift and carry camera equipment (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of professional camera equipment (DSLR, Mirrorless, Cinema Cameras) is a plus.
- Valid G-class driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Film, Television Production, Media Arts, or a related field.
- Previous volunteer or internship experience on film sets or media projects.
- Familiarity with various camera systems (e.g., ARRI, RED, Sony, Canon C-series).
- Knowledge of basic camera rigging and support systems.
- Proficiency with basic video editing software or data management tools.
