Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking an exceptional and visionary Childcare Center Director to lead our vibrant early learning center in Coon Rapids. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and oversee an engaging, age-appropriate curriculum that meets state and national early learning standards.
  • Recruit, hire, train, mentor, evaluate, and provide ongoing professional development for all childcare staff.
  • Manage all daily center operations, ensuring strict compliance with Minnesota state childcare licensing regulations, health, and safety standards.
  • Oversee the center's budget, financial planning, tuition collection, and resource allocation to ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Cultivate strong, positive relationships with families, fostering open communication and active community engagement.
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to maintain optimal enrollment levels and attract new families.
  • Ensure the creation and maintenance of a safe, clean, organized, and stimulating environment conducive to learning and play.
  • Address parent concerns, staff issues, and general administrative duties promptly, professionally, and effectively.
  • Implement and maintain policies and procedures that promote a healthy, respectful, and inclusive center culture.

Required Skills

  • Proven leadership and team management capabilities, with experience in staff supervision and development.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and staff.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and problem-solving abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of early childhood development theories, best practices, and educational methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Minnesota state childcare licensing regulations and child safety protocols.
  • Demonstrated experience in budget management, financial oversight, and business operations.
  • Competency with childcare management software and standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Educational Leadership, or a closely related field.
  • Possession of a Minnesota Director's Credential Level II or higher.
  • Experience with accreditation processes, such as NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children).
  • Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish, Somali) is a significant asset.
  • Five or more years of experience in an early childhood education leadership role.
