Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient consultations, taking accurate histories, and performing thorough physical examinations.
- Diagnose and manage common medical, surgical, and obstetric conditions in alignment with established clinical protocols.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory investigations and imaging studies.
- Develop and implement individualized patient treatment plans, including prescribing medications and recommending further care.
- Perform minor surgical procedures, wound care, and other clinical interventions as required.
- Provide health education and counseling to patients and their families on disease prevention, management, and healthy lifestyles.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date patient medical records.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Participate in continuous professional development activities and regular clinical audits.
- Adhere strictly to professional ethics, legal requirements, and facility policies.
Required Skills
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution.
- Valid practicing license from the Clinical Officers Council of Kenya.
- Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification clinical experience in a busy healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and managing common medical, surgical, and obstetric conditions.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and patient counseling skills.
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- High level of integrity, empathy, and professionalism.
- Excellent record-keeping and organizational abilities.
