Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility, feeding, and hygiene, always maintaining their dignity and respect.
  • Monitor and record patients' vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) and accurately document observations, reporting any changes or concerns to the nursing staff promptly.
  • Support patients with their nutritional needs, assisting with meals and drinks, and recording fluid intake and output as required.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe environment for patients, adhering to infection control policies and procedures.
  • Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families, fostering a reassuring and empathetic atmosphere.
  • Assist qualified healthcare professionals with basic clinical procedures and examinations under direct supervision.
  • Accurately complete patient care records and documentation in line with organisational guidelines.
  • Facilitate patient comfort and ensure their needs are met, responding to call bells and requests in a timely manner.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, communicating effectively with colleagues, patients, and visitors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics at grade 4 (C) or above.

  • Evidence of commitment to continuous learning and personal development.
  • First Aid certification or willingness to obtain one.
  • Completion of the Care Certificate or willingness to undertake it upon commencement.
