Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility, and feeding, whilst maintaining dignity and respect.
- Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes or concerns to the nursing staff promptly.
- Support patients with their emotional and psychological needs, providing comfort and reassurance.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe environment for patients, adhering strictly to infection control policies.
- Assist with patient observations, documentation, and record-keeping, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic, patient-centered care.
- Undertake basic clinical tasks as delegated by a qualified nurse, following appropriate training and competency assessment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and healthcare professionals.
- Participate in ward or department meetings and contribute to care planning discussions.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Clinical Support Worker or Healthcare Assistant in a hospital setting.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent qualification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently under supervision.
- Demonstrable understanding of patient confidentiality and data protection.
- Basic IT skills for documentation and record-keeping.
