Key Responsibilities

  • Setup, program (editing), and operate CNC lathes for various materials and complex part geometries.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, G-code, and engineering specifications to determine setup procedures and machining sequence.
  • Perform in-process and final inspection of machined parts using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure compliance with quality standards and tight tolerances.
  • Conduct routine machine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs to ensure optimal machine performance and longevity.
  • Monitor machine operations, detecting and reporting malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering strictly to all safety protocols and company policies.
  • Collaborate effectively with production team members, engineers, and quality assurance personnel to optimize processes and achieve production targets.
  • Document production activities, including completed work, inspections, and any issues encountered.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a CNC Machinist, specifically operating and setting up precision lathes.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings.
  • Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming; ability to edit and optimize programs.
  • Expertise in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and bore gauges.
  • Solid knowledge of various metalworking materials, tooling, and machining processes.
  • Ability to perform quality control checks and troubleshoot machining issues independently.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, precise components.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical degree or certification in Machining Technology, CNC Programming, or a related field.
  • Experience with specific CNC control systems (e.g., Fanuc, Haas, Siemens).
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software for part analysis or program verification.
  • Experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to train and mentor junior machinists.
