Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a company vehicle for pickups and deliveries within the designated service area.
- Load and unload packages accurately and carefully, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods.
- Plan and follow efficient routes for timely deliveries, utilizing navigation tools as needed.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, logs, and obtain necessary recipient signatures.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with dispatch, customers, and team members.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety regulations, and operational policies.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the delivery vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues.
- Provide excellent customer service during all interactions, ensuring a positive experience.
- Handle cash or card payments for COD (Cash on Delivery) orders, if applicable.
Required Skills
- Valid Class 5 driver's license (or equivalent in BC) with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs (23 kg) regularly.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to meet delivery deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Comfortable using GPS and other navigation tools.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to work independently while following established procedures.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the Steveston and broader Richmond areas.
- Previous experience in a customer service or delivery-related role (e.g., food delivery).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including some evenings or weekends if required.
