Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring system health and performance.
  • Ensure high levels of data availability, integrity, and security across all database environments.
  • Implement and maintain database backup, recovery, and replication strategies.
  • Perform database tuning and optimization for performance, including query optimization, indexing, and storage management.
  • Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database schemas, stored procedures, and triggers.
  • Troubleshoot database-related issues, including connectivity, performance, and data integrity problems.
  • Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and patches.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for database configurations, processes, and standards.
  • Stay current with emerging database technologies and best practices, making recommendations for improvements.
  • Manage user access and permissions to databases, ensuring compliance with security policies.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator (DBA).
  • Strong proficiency in SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL.
  • Expertise in database performance tuning and optimization.
  • Solid understanding of database backup, recovery, and high availability strategies.
  • Experience with database security best practices.
  • Familiarity with database monitoring tools.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex database issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
