Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a delivery vehicle to transport parcels to designated locations.
- Adhere to planned delivery routes and schedules to ensure timely arrivals.
- Load, unload, and organize parcels in the delivery vehicle according to delivery sequence.
- Verify accurate package counts and secure necessary signatures upon delivery.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery status or issues.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance concerns.
- Maintain a clean and organized delivery vehicle.
- Comply with all traffic laws and company safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency with GPS devices and navigation applications.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deliveries efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in parcel delivery or a related driving role.
- Familiarity with the Historic District, Pontiac and surrounding areas.
- Experience with handheld scanning devices or delivery management software.
