Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and implement engaging and age-appropriate early learning activities aligned with provincial curriculum guidelines.
- Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining accurate records and communicating regularly with parents/guardians.
- Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment that promotes children's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Collaborate effectively with co-workers, parents, and community resources to support children's holistic growth.
- Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and team meetings to enhance educational practices.
- Administer first aid or emergency care when necessary, following established protocols.
Required Skills
- Level 2 or 3 Early Childhood Educator certification (or equivalent recognized by Alberta Child Care Licensing)
- Minimum of 1 year (12 months) of demonstrable experience working with young children in a licensed childcare setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with children, parents, and staff.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and play-based learning philosophies.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
- Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with diverse cultural backgrounds and second language learners.
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- Proficiency in additional languages relevant to Edmonton's diverse population.
- Experience in curriculum development and program planning.
