Job Description

You will be responsible for the full lifecycle management of our databases, including design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, patch, and upgrade database software and related products (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
- Monitor database performance, implement optimizations, and ensure high availability and disaster recovery solutions are in place.
- Perform routine database maintenance tasks, including backups, restores, and data archiving.
- Develop, manage, and test database backup and recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Implement and maintain database security, including user access management, roles, and permissions.
- Collaborate with developers and system administrators to design and optimize database schemas and queries.
- Troubleshoot database issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide timely resolutions.
- Document database configurations, processes, and operational procedures.
- Participate in capacity planning and future database architecture design.
- Ensure compliance with data governance policies and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator with relational database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle).
- Strong proficiency in SQL for querying, data manipulation, and database management.
- Expertise in database backup and recovery strategies and tools.
- Solid understanding of database security best practices and implementation.
- Experience with performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with database monitoring tools and methodologies.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex database issues effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
