As a Medical Secretary, you will be the welcoming face and first point of contact for patients, playing a crucial role in creating a positive and professional environment. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and organize patient appointments, referrals, and follow-up schedules.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient medical records, both electronic and physical, in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Prepare and process patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails, letters, and faxes, often containing sensitive medical information.
- Answer and direct phone calls, taking messages and providing information to patients and healthcare professionals.
- Process medical billing, insurance claims, and payment collections accurately.
- Order and maintain office supplies, ensuring the efficient operation of the administrative area.
- Assist medical staff with various administrative tasks, freeing them to focus on patient care.
- Liaise with laboratories, pharmacies, and other external healthcare providers.
- Ensure the waiting area and administrative office are tidy, welcoming, and organized.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in medical terminology and healthcare administration procedures.
