Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a delivery vehicle to transport goods to various locations.
- Load, unload, prepare, inspect, and operate a delivery vehicle while adhering to all safety protocols.
- Deliver a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes, ensuring timely arrivals.
- Follow defined routes and time schedules, adapting to traffic and unforeseen circumstances as needed.
- Complete logs and reports accurately, including delivery confirmations, vehicle maintenance checks, and mileage.
- Interact with customers in a professional, courteous, and friendly manner, representing Career.zycto positively.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road signs, and company safety regulations at all times.
- Maintain the cleanliness and proper functioning of the assigned delivery vehicle, performing routine checks.
- Collect payments from customers when required and maintain meticulous financial records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and team members regarding delivery status or issues.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to meet delivery deadlines.
- Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with the Philadelphia area roads and neighborhoods.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for customer interactions.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous professional experience as a delivery driver or in a similar transportation role.
- Experience using handheld delivery devices, GPS systems, or route optimization software.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Knowledge of DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
