Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing procedures.
- Conduct thorough oral health assessments, including charting, periodontal probing, and medical history review.
- Administer topical fluoride and apply dental sealants as indicated.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, nutrition, and preventive dental care strategies.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and detailed patient records in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Take, process, and interpret dental radiographs (X-rays) following safety protocols.
- Sterilize instruments, disinfect operatory rooms, and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment.
- Assist the dentist during various dental procedures and emergencies as needed.
- Adhere to all provincial and national dental hygiene regulations, standards of practice, and infection control guidelines.
- Provide post-operative instructions and patient follow-up care to ensure optimal healing and comfort.
Required Skills
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Dental Hygienist in Quebec (ODHQ).
- Minimum 2 years of proven clinical experience as a Dental Hygienist.
- Proficiency in performing all standard dental hygiene procedures and patient care techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
