Key Responsibilities
- Assist dentists with a wide range of dental procedures, including restorative, surgical, endodontic, and preventative treatments.
- Prepare and maintain the dental surgery, ensuring all instruments are sterilised, set up, and ready for use.
- Provide chairside assistance, anticipating the needs of the dentist and ensuring patient comfort.
- Perform infection control and sterilisation procedures in accordance with Australian standards.
- Process and develop radiographs (X-rays) as required, ensuring patient safety protocols are followed.
- Maintain accurate patient records, manage appointments, and handle administrative tasks as needed.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions.
- Manage stock and order dental supplies, ensuring efficient inventory levels.
- Adhere strictly to all clinic policies, health and safety regulations, and professional ethical guidelines.
- Support reception and administrative duties when necessary, contributing to overall clinic efficiency.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Dental Nurse/Assistant.
- Excellent chairside manner and patient care skills.
- Strong understanding of infection control and sterilisation protocols.
- Proficiency in dental software and basic computer applications.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting (or equivalent international qualification).
- Experience with digital radiography and intra-oral scanning.
- Knowledge of Australian dental regulations and standards.
- Previous experience working with diverse patient demographics.
