Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and braking systems for heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
- Conduct thorough preventative maintenance inspections and services to ensure optimal fleet performance and longevity.
- Utilize specialized diagnostic tools and software to accurately identify and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins to guide repair and maintenance procedures.
- Execute vehicle repairs and part replacements with precision and efficiency, adhering strictly to manufacturer specifications and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and labor hours.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure seamless fleet operations and timely completion of tasks.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
- Actively participate in ongoing training and professional development programs to stay current with industry advancements and new technologies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with a strong focus on heavy-duty equipment repair and maintenance.
- In-depth knowledge of diesel engine mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and advanced electrical systems.
- Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools and software specific to diesel vehicles.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and complex wiring schematics.
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis abilities to diagnose and rectify intricate mechanical failures.
- Excellent attention to detail and unwavering commitment to quality workmanship and safety.
- Valid driver's license (CDL preferred, but not mandatory for initial application).
