Key Responsibilities
- Curate and mix a diverse range of music genres to create an engaging and dynamic atmosphere.
- Read the crowd and adjust music selections in real-time to maintain energy and engagement.
- Operate and maintain professional DJ equipment, ensuring optimal sound quality throughout the shift.
- Interact professionally with patrons and venue staff, contributing to a positive guest experience.
- Manage song requests politely and effectively, integrating them when appropriate.
- Arrive punctually for shifts, prepared with a comprehensive music library and necessary equipment.
- Troubleshoot minor technical issues with sound equipment when necessary.
- Adhere to all venue policies, including music volume levels and operational guidelines.
- Collaborate with marketing and management on special events or themed nights.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a DJ in a bar, lounge, or club setting.
- Expert proficiency with professional DJ software and hardware (e.g., Pioneer CDJs, Rekordbox, Serato DJ, Traktor).
- Extensive knowledge of various music genres relevant to bar/lounge environments (e.g., Top 40, Hip Hop, R&B, House, Disco, Throwbacks).
- Exceptional mixing, beat-matching, and scratching skills.
- Strong ability to read and energize a crowd.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliability and strong work ethic, especially for night and weekend shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of consistent DJ experience in high-volume nightlife venues.
