Career.zycto is on the lookout for an exceptional and high-energy DJ to elevate the atmosphere at one of Nairobi’s premier entertainment venues located within Two Rivers Mall. This isn’t just about playing tracks; it’s about curating an immersive sound journey that captivates the audience, sets the mood, and keeps the energy pulsating throughout the night. We need a DJ with a keen ear for music, an innate ability to read and respond to crowd dynamics, and the technical prowess to deliver a flawless, high-quality audio experience. You will be responsible for bringing our client’s vision to life, ensuring every performance is memorable and aligns with the venue’s brand and desired ambiance. Key Responsibilities
- Perform live DJ sets as scheduled, adhering to agreed-upon musical genres and themes.
- Read and engage the crowd effectively, adapting music selection and flow to maintain high energy and satisfaction.
- Operate and troubleshoot professional DJ equipment, including mixers, turntables, CDJs, and sound systems.
- Maintain an extensive and current music library across various genres, including popular hits, classics, and emerging tracks relevant to the target audience.
- Collaborate with venue management and event organizers to understand and execute specific event requirements.
- Ensure seamless transitions between tracks and sets, maintaining a professional and polished sound.
- Arrive punctually for all scheduled performances, sound checks, and meetings.
- Promote the venue and your performances through personal and professional channels where appropriate.
- Provide basic technical support for sound and lighting as needed during performances.
- Manage requests from guests respectfully while adhering to venue policies.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of professional DJ experience in clubs, lounges, or similar entertainment venues.
- Proficiency in operating industry-standard DJ equipment (Pioneer CDJs, mixers, Rekordbox, Serato DJ, Traktor, etc.).
- Deep understanding of various music genres relevant to club settings (e.g., Afrobeat, Amapiano, Hip-Hop, R&B, House, EDM, Kenyan Pop).
- Exceptional ability to read and energize a crowd, ensuring a lively and engaging atmosphere.
- Strong technical skills for sound management and basic troubleshooting.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Reliability and punctuality for all scheduled performances.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
