Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles, including vans and light trucks, for local and regional deliveries.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment; report any defects or issues promptly.
- Load and unload cargo safely, ensuring proper securing and handling to prevent damage.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and company safety policies.
- Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery schedules, delays, and other operational concerns.
- Represent Career.zycto professionally and courteously at all times.
- Assist with warehouse duties, such as staging and organizing freight, when not on active routes.
- Ensure cleanliness and basic maintenance of the assigned vehicle.
Required Skills
- Valid Class C (or higher, if required for specific vehicle types) Driver's License.
- Clean driving record (MVR) for the past 3-5 years.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs consistently.
- Strong understanding of traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to navigate using GPS and read maps effectively.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs).
- Familiarity with Houston-area routes and traffic patterns.
