Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive geotechnical investigations, including planning, supervision, and interpretation of ground investigation data.
- Perform detailed geotechnical analysis and design for foundations, retaining structures, slopes, and ground improvement techniques.
- Prepare high-quality technical reports, design calculations, specifications, and drawings.
- Provide expert geotechnical advice and support during all project phases, from feasibility to construction.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources efficiently to ensure timely delivery of work.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and health and safety guidelines.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous professional development within the team.
- Utilize advanced geotechnical software for modelling and analysis.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in geotechnical design and analysis.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, Oasys Suite, Slope/W).
- Strong understanding of Eurocodes and UK geotechnical design standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated project management capabilities.
- Full UK driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards it.
- Experience with finite element analysis for complex geotechnical problems.
- Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modelling) principles.
- Previous experience working on projects in Scotland.
