Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and proactive IT Support Technician to join our growing team in Range Lake, Yellowknife. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first and second-level technical support for hardware, software, network, and application issues, both remotely and on-site.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, peripherals, and software.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems efficiently, minimizing downtime for users.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and email configurations.
  • Perform routine system maintenance, backups, and security checks.
  • Document IT procedures, solutions, and asset inventory accurately.
  • Assist with network infrastructure setup and basic administration (routers, switches, Wi-Fi).
  • Educate users on best practices for IT security and system usage.
  • Collaborate with senior IT staff on larger projects and system upgrades.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure optimal functionality.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in IT support or a similar technical role.
  • Solid understanding of Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Basic knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and network troubleshooting.
  • Experience with hardware installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting (desktops, laptops, printers).
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and IT service management best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate).
  • Experience with remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure) administration.
  • Basic understanding of server hardware and virtualization concepts.
