Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal care activities such as washing, dressing, and mobility.
- Support patients with their nutritional needs, including feeding and monitoring intake.
- Monitor vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) and accurately record observations.
- Assist nurses with clinical tasks as delegated and trained, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe environment for patients, adhering to infection control policies.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a reassuring atmosphere.
- Accurately document care provided and report any changes in patient condition to the nursing staff.
- Assist with patient mobility and transfers, using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies, procedures, and relevant healthcare regulations.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to care planning discussions.
Required Skills
- Minimum 6 months experience in a healthcare setting (e.g., hospital, nursing home, community care).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong empathy, compassion, and a patient-centered approach to care.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to demonstrate a strong work ethic.
- Basic IT literacy for record-keeping.
- Understanding of confidentiality and data protection in a healthcare context.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
- First Aid qualification.
- Experience in mental health or elderly care.
- Knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults.
