Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test embedded software for IoT devices using various microcontrollers and platforms.
- Integrate sensors, actuators, and communication modules (e.g., Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LoRaWAN, Cellular) into IoT systems.
- Develop and manage cloud-based IoT platforms (e.g., AWS IoT, Azure IoT Hub, Google Cloud IoT Core) for device management, data ingestion, and analytics.
- Implement robust data communication protocols and ensure secure and efficient data flow between devices and the cloud.
- Prototype and validate new IoT concepts and solutions, from initial idea to functional proof-of-concept.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers on device architecture, power management, and form factor considerations.
- Work with front-end and back-end developers to integrate IoT data into applications and dashboards.
- Conduct debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization for IoT solutions.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for designs, code, and operational procedures.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in IoT technologies, security, and industry standards.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in embedded C/C++ programming.
- Strong understanding of microcontroller architectures (e.g., ARM, ESP32) and RTOS concepts.
- Experience with various communication protocols (e.g., MQTT, CoAP, HTTP/REST, BLE).
- Familiarity with at least one major cloud IoT platform (e.g., AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Google Cloud IoT).
- Experience with sensor integration and data acquisition.
- Knowledge of scripting languages like Python for data processing or automation.
- Understanding of network fundamentals and security principles in IoT.
- Ability to read schematics and datasheets.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
