Job Description
We are actively seeking a highly motivated and skilled IT Support Technician to join our dynamic team at Diamonds Mapenzi Beach, situated in the beautiful locale of Kairo, Kiwengwa. Key Responsibilities
- Provide prompt and effective first and second-level technical support for all hardware, software, and network-related issues across the entire resort.
- Install, configure, and meticulously maintain computer systems, network devices, printers, telecommunication equipment, and other IT assets.
- Proactively troubleshoot and swiftly resolve technical problems impacting both staff and guest-facing systems, including Wi-Fi, POS, and PMS.
- Regularly monitor system performance, conduct routine preventative maintenance, and ensure strict adherence to data backup and security protocols.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights, ensuring compliance with established company policies and security standards.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of IT procedures, configurations, and resolutions to common issues to enhance our knowledge base.
- Collaborate effectively with external vendors and specialized service providers to address complex technical challenges when necessary.
Required Skills
- A minimum of two years' proven experience in IT support, encompassing extensive troubleshooting of hardware and software issues.
- Robust knowledge of Windows operating systems and proficiency with common office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Solid understanding of fundamental network concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi configuration and security).
- Practical experience with basic server maintenance and Active Directory user management.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities coupled with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with fluency in English.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively within a flexible schedule environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Possession of CompTIA A+, Network+, or other relevant IT industry certifications.
- Prior experience with hotel management systems (PMS) and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
- Familiarity with CCTV and access control systems.
- Basic knowledge of Linux operating systems.
- Previous professional experience within the hospitality industry.
