Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a passionate and experienced Landscape Architect to join our dynamic team in Port Credit, Mississauga. This is an exceptional opportunity for a creative professional fluent in English to contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects, from conceptual design through to construction administration. As a Landscape Architect, you will play a pivotal role in transforming visions into tangible, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing outdoor environments. We are looking for an individual who possesses a strong understanding of design principles, ecological systems, and construction practices, coupled with a deep commitment to environmental stewardship and community enhancement.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing innovative design solutions, preparing detailed construction documents, and collaborating closely with clients, engineers, urban planners, and other stakeholders. Your day-to-day will involve site analysis, master planning, material selection, planting design, and the integration of sustainable practices into all projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to all phases of landscape architecture projects, from concept development to construction administration.
  • Conduct site analysis, research, and evaluate environmental and social impacts of proposed designs.
  • Prepare high-quality design documents including master plans, conceptual drawings, detailed construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, clients, and regulatory agencies to ensure project success.
  • Integrate sustainable design principles, ecological considerations, and innovative solutions into all projects.
  • Present design concepts and technical information clearly and persuasively to clients and stakeholders.
  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, and ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • 3+ years of progressive professional experience in landscape architecture.
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal communication).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong understanding of grading, drainage, planting design, and construction detailing.
  • Excellent graphic communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Deep knowledge of regional plant materials and sustainable landscape practices.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for site visits.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Landscape Architect (PLA) license in Ontario or eligibility for licensure.
  • Experience with 3D modeling software (e.g., SketchUp, Rhino, Lumion).
  • Familiarity with local zoning bylaws, building codes, and environmental regulations.
  • Prior experience working on urban design, park design, or waterfront revitalization projects.
  • LEED AP or SITES AP accreditation.
