Job Description
Are you eager to launch a rewarding career that allows you to work outdoors, transform spaces, and develop valuable hands-on skills? Career.zycto is seeking enthusiastic and hardworking individuals for an Entry Level Landscaper position in Downtown Calgary. This is an incredible opportunity for someone passionate about the environment and eager to learn the fundamentals of landscaping from the ground up. No prior experience is required – just a strong work ethic, a willingness to get your hands dirty, and a desire to grow within a supportive team.
As an Entry Level Landscaper, you will be an integral part of our dynamic team, contributing to the beautification and maintenance of various commercial and residential properties throughout Downtown Calgary. You’ll gain practical experience in a wide range of tasks, from routine lawn care, garden bed maintenance, and seasonal clean-ups, to assisting with larger planting and installation projects. This role is perfect for individuals who thrive in an active, outdoor setting and are looking for a career where their efforts directly contribute to creating visually appealing and healthy green spaces. You will work closely with experienced landscapers who are committed to mentoring new team members, providing guidance, and sharing their expertise to help you master essential techniques and safety protocols. This includes proper usage and maintenance of tools, understanding plant identification, and effective pest and disease management strategies.
Your day-to-day will be diverse, offering exposure to different aspects of landscaping across various Calgary locations. You’ll learn how to operate various hand tools (like shovels, rakes, pruners) and basic power equipment (such as mowers, trimmers, blowers) safely and efficiently under supervision. Furthermore, you’ll gain an understanding of the specific needs of different plants, soil conditions, and watering requirements, all while contributing to the overall aesthetics and health of the landscapes we manage. We believe in fostering a learning environment where curiosity is encouraged, and hard work is recognized. This position offers a clear pathway for advancement, allowing you to develop specialized skills and take on more responsibilities as you gain experience, potentially moving into roles like lead hand or specialized technicians. If you are reliable, dedicated, and ready to embark on a fulfilling career in the vibrant landscaping industry, we encourage you to apply and become a part of a team that prides itself on excellence, environmental stewardship, and client satisfaction.
