Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and energetic Laundry Operations Assistant to join our esteemed team in Makunduchi. This full-time, on-site role is vital to ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our in-house laundry facility, directly contributing to the luxurious experience our guests expect. The Laundry Operations Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the processing of linens, uniforms, and guest garments, ensuring they meet our stringent quality and hygiene standards. You will be hands-on with operating commercial laundry equipment, meticulously sorting and handling items, and contributing to maintaining an organized, safe, and efficient working environment. This position requires an individual who is detail-oriented, physically capable, and deeply committed to upholding the resort’s reputation for immaculate service and presentation. Key Responsibilities
- Sort and categorize all laundry items (linens, towels, uniforms, guest clothing) according to fabric type, color, and specific cleaning requirements.
- Operate commercial laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, ironers, and pressing machines, following safety guidelines and manufacturer operating procedures.
- Inspect all items meticulously for stains, damage, and wear before and after laundering, reporting any issues or discrepancies to the Laundry Supervisor.
- Fold, press, and neatly stack clean laundry, ensuring proper presentation and preparing it for efficient distribution to guest rooms, restaurants, spas, and other resort departments.
- Maintain exceptional cleanliness and organization within the entire laundry facility, including regular cleaning of equipment, work surfaces, and storage areas.
- Monitor and manage laundry supplies, detergents, and chemicals, reporting inventory needs to ensure continuous and uninterrupted operation.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and procedures mandated by the resort and local regulations.
- Assist with the accurate recording of laundry processed, inventory levels, and any discarded or damaged items.
- Collaborate effectively with other laundry team members, housekeeping staff, and other resort departments to ensure timely service delivery and guest satisfaction.
- Handle guest special requests for laundry and dry-cleaning services with professionalism, efficiency, and discretion, ensuring personalized service.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify quality discrepancies or potential issues.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights (up to 20kg), and perform repetitive tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for inventory tracking, sorting, and following written instructions.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work both independently and as a contributing member of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining consistently high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and garment care.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Understanding of basic safety protocols for operating machinery and handling chemicals.

- Ability to communicate effectively in English and basic conversational Swahili.
