As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will play a crucial role in providing tailored support to students with diverse learning needs, both on a one-to-one basis and within small groups. You will work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and parents to implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and behavioural support strategies. Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with special educational needs (SEN), including those with learning difficulties, physical disabilities, or behavioural challenges.
- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons and activities.
- Help prepare learning materials and resources, adapting them to suit individual student needs.
- Monitor student progress, record observations, and provide feedback to the class teacher and SENCO.
- Support students in developing independence, self-esteem, and social skills.
- Assist with the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management plans.
- Supervise students during break times, lunchtimes, and school trips, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external professionals under the guidance of the class teacher.
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
