As a Lifeguard, you will be the cornerstone of safety at our partner facilities, ensuring a secure and enjoyable experience for all swimmers and patrons. You will be integral to upholding the highest standards of pool safety, from proactive supervision to emergency response. Your days will involve continuous and attentive observation of aquatic areas, identifying potential hazards, and educating patrons on safety regulations in a clear and friendly manner. Beyond direct supervision, you’ll be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and operational readiness of rescue equipment, conducting regular safety checks of facilities, and providing prompt and effective first aid when necessary. Teamwork is essential, as you’ll collaborate closely with fellow lifeguards and facility staff to manage busy periods, coordinate breaks, and ensure seamless coverage across all zones. Key Responsibilities

  • Actively supervise aquatic areas to prevent accidents and ensure patron safety.
  • Enforce pool rules and regulations fairly and consistently.
  • Respond to emergencies swiftly and effectively, performing rescues and providing first aid/CPR as needed.
  • Conduct regular safety checks of the facility and equipment.
  • Maintain clear and concise communication with patrons, staff, and supervisors.
  • Educate patrons on safe swimming practices and facility guidelines.
  • Assist with maintaining cleanliness and order of the pool deck and locker rooms.
  • Complete incident reports accurately and promptly.
  • Participate in regular in-service training sessions to maintain skills and certifications.

Required Skills

  • Current National Lifeguard (NL) certification (Pool option).
  • Current Standard First Aid (SFA) and CPR-C certification.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm and decisive in emergency situations.
  • Physical fitness and endurance required for rescue operations.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous lifeguard experience in a public or recreational facility.
  • Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification.
  • Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification.
  • Experience working with diverse age groups and abilities.
  • Additional language proficiency is an asset.
