In this critical role, you will be instrumental in maintaining, optimizing, and securing our Linux-based infrastructure, ensuring peak performance and reliability for our diverse operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine system administration tasks including installation, configuration, patching, upgrading, and troubleshooting of Linux servers (primarily RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu).
  • Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and log files to proactively identify and resolve issues, ensuring high availability and optimal operational efficiency.
  • Implement and maintain robust security measures, including firewall rules, user access controls, vulnerability scanning, and regular security audits.
  • Develop and maintain scripts (Bash, Python) for system automation, configuration management, and task scheduling to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  • Manage and configure network services such as DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S, SSH, FTP, and mail servers.
  • Oversee backup and recovery operations, ensuring data integrity and business continuity.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to development and operations teams on Linux-related issues.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides to maintain a comprehensive knowledge base.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for critical system support as required.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance the Linux infrastructure.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Linux operating systems (RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian)
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash and Python for automation
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls)
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, VirtualBox)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) fundamentals
  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Nagios, Zabbix)
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., RHCE, LPIC, CompTIA Linux+)
  • Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Familiarity with database administration (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Understanding of storage solutions (NFS, SAN, NAS)
