Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Lunchtime Supervisor to join our team in Marple, Manchester. As a Lunchtime Supervisor, you will be an integral part of ensuring that children have an enjoyable, safe, and positive experience during their lunch break. You will be responsible for supervising children in the dining hall and playground, promoting good behaviour, encouraging healthy eating habits, and facilitating positive social interactions. Your role is crucial in maintaining a calm and orderly atmosphere, intervening constructively in minor disputes, and providing immediate first aid when necessary (with appropriate training provided).

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise children during lunchtime periods in the dining hall, classrooms, and outdoor play areas, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Promote positive behaviour and social interactions among pupils, addressing any incidents or conflicts calmly and effectively.
  • Assist children with their meals, encouraging healthy eating habits and good table manners.
  • Organise and facilitate engaging playtime activities, ensuring all children are included and participating safely.
  • Administer basic first aid for minor injuries and seek immediate assistance for more serious incidents, following school protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with teaching staff and senior leaders regarding any concerns about children's behaviour or welfare.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly environment during lunchtime, encouraging children to tidy up after themselves.
  • Report any safeguarding concerns or significant incidents to the appropriate school staff.
  • Be a positive role model for children, demonstrating respect, patience, and kindness.

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with children aged 4-11.
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach.
  • Ability to manage groups of children effectively and maintain discipline.
  • Awareness of health and safety regulations.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with children in a school or childcare setting.
  • Basic First Aid certification (training can be provided if not held).
