Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mason to join our dynamic construction team in Kisumu County, Kenya. Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and dimensions.
- Lay bricks, concrete blocks, stone, and other masonry units to construct or repair walls, partitions, arches, and other structures.
- Mix mortar, concrete, and other compounds according to specifications and apply them.
- Cut and trim masonry units to fit using hand and power tools.
- Check vertical and horizontal alignment of courses using plumb bobs, levels, and squares.
- Ensure all work adheres to building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with other construction workers and tradespeople to ensure project completion.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring proper storage of materials and tools.
- Perform general site clean-up and support duties as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Mason in construction.
- Proficiency in various masonry techniques (bricklaying, blocklaying, stonework).
- Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Strong mathematical skills for measurement and material calculation.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
