Job Description
We are urgently seeking a dedicated and efficient Material Handler to join a bustling warehouse operation in Bristol. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and check incoming materials against invoices and purchase orders for accuracy and damages.
- Store materials in designated warehouse locations using appropriate equipment and adhering to safety protocols.
- Pick and prepare orders for shipment, ensuring correct items and quantities are selected.
- Load outgoing shipments onto trucks and ensure proper weight distribution and securing of goods.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently (certification beneficial).
- Perform regular inventory counts and assist with cycle counts to maintain accurate stock records.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as required, including waste management and facility upkeep.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to optimize workflow and meet daily targets.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role (minimum 6 months).
- Ability to lift heavy objects regularly and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in managing inventory.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Basic computer literacy for scanning and inventory tracking systems.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., Counterbalance, Reach Truck).
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Prior experience working in a fast-paced logistics or distribution environment.
- First Aid certification.
