This unique opportunity calls for a nurturing, proactive, and culturally sensitive individual who understands the nuances of supporting an American family living abroad. The ideal candidate will seamlessly integrate into the family’s routine, offering comprehensive childcare, educational support, and a stimulating environment where the children can thrive.

We are looking for someone who is not only passionate about child development but also possesses an innate ability to create a warm, engaging, and secure atmosphere. You will be responsible for fostering an environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and learning, balancing structured activities with plenty of opportunities for imaginative play and outdoor exploration. Your role extends beyond basic care; you’ll be a trusted partner in their children’s upbringing, contributing significantly to their daily joy and long-term development. If you are an experienced nanny with a gentle approach, exceptional organisational skills, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on a family’s life, we encourage you to apply. This role offers the chance to work closely with a family that values open communication and a collaborative approach to childcare, ensuring a truly rewarding experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with homework and provide academic support to foster learning and development.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised environment for the children, including tidying play areas and children's bedrooms.
  • Communicate regularly and openly with parents, providing updates on the children's progress, activities, and any concerns.
  • Foster cultural understanding and respect, being mindful of the family's American background and traditions.
  • Ensure the children's well-being, safety, and emotional security at all times.
  • Administer basic first aid and medication as required, following parental guidelines.
  • Manage light household duties related to the children, such as children's laundry and meal prep clean-up.
  • Be prepared for occasional travel with the family, both domestically and internationally, if required.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Nanny, Childminder, or Childcare Provider, ideally with American families or in an international setting.

  • Ability to create a stimulating, educational, and fun environment.
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing disposition with a proactive attitude.
  • Current First Aid and Pediatric CPR certification.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one promptly).
  • Legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
  • Clean driving license and access to own reliable transport for school runs and activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal childcare qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of American educational systems or common parenting styles.
  • Flexibility to accommodate occasional evening babysitting or weekend hours.
  • Experience living or working abroad.
