Key Responsibilities
- Design, install, configure, and maintain local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and other data communication systems.
- Monitor network performance, availability, and security using various tools and techniques.
- Troubleshoot network issues quickly and efficiently, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Manage network hardware (routers, switches, access points) and software, ensuring proper updates and configurations.
- Perform regular network backups and disaster recovery planning to ensure business continuity.
- Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for internal knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to support server infrastructure, desktop systems, and applications.
- Plan and implement network upgrades, migrations, and new deployments with minimal disruption.
- Provide technical support and guidance to users on network-related issues.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in configuring and managing routers, switches, and firewalls (e.g., Cisco, Mikrotik, FortiGate).
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, and other networking protocols.
- Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix).
- Knowledge of network security best practices and implementation.
- Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
