Job Description
Are you a meticulous and energetic individual looking to play a crucial role in the heart of our operations? Winner’s Supermarket is seeking a dedicated Order Picker to join our warehouse and logistics team in Curepipe. As an Order Picker, you will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient and accurate flow of products from our distribution center to our numerous supermarket branches across Mauritius. This role involves precise selection, scanning, and preparation of goods for shipment, directly contributing to our promise of fresh and readily available products for our customers. You will be operating in a fast-paced environment, utilizing modern warehouse technology, and working alongside a supportive team committed to achieving daily targets. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and pack products according to customer orders and store requisitions.
- Utilize handheld scanners and other warehouse equipment to track inventory and maintain precise records.
- Ensure the quality and integrity of products during the picking process, reporting any discrepancies or damages.
- Safely operate manual pallet jacks or other material handling equipment as required, following all safety protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet daily picking and dispatch targets.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment within the warehouse.
- Assist with loading and unloading tasks when necessary, ensuring proper stacking and securing of goods.
- Participate in regular inventory counts and stock checks as needed.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 20kg) repeatedly.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic warehouse environment.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Order Picker or in a similar warehouse/logistics role.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and handheld scanning devices.
- Knowledge of basic inventory procedures.
- Valid driver's license (not mandatory, but a plus for potential future growth).
