Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive supervision and companionship during overnight hours.
- Assist clients with personal care needs such as toileting, hygiene, and dressing, as required during the night.
- Monitor client's health status, including vital signs and any changes in condition, and report promptly to the appropriate personnel.
- Administer medication according to prescribed schedules and document accurately.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for clients, including light housekeeping tasks related to client comfort.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, using proper techniques and equipment to prevent injury.
- Prepare simple snacks or drinks as requested by clients during the night.
- Document care provided and any observed changes in client's physical or mental state.
- Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies or unexpected situations.
- Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other care team members.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a caregiver or personal support worker.
- Proven ability to work overnight shifts reliably and independently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English or French.
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a compassionate approach to care.
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
- Basic first aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Physical ability to assist with client transfers and mobility.
- Valid work permit or eligibility for visa sponsorship to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a Personal Support Worker (PSW) program or equivalent.
