Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Paid Media Strategist to join our marketing team, focusing on driving online bookings and revenue for our diverse portfolio of hotel and resort brands. This hybrid role, based in Kariba, will be instrumental in developing, executing, and optimizing comprehensive paid media campaigns across various platforms, including Google Ads, social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn), and programmatic advertising. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing substantial budgets for eCommerce-focused businesses, demonstrating expertise in conversion optimization, audience segmentation, and A/B testing. You will be responsible for crafting compelling ad copy, selecting high-performing visuals, and rigorously analyzing campaign performance to ensure maximum ROI. This role requires a strategic thinker who can translate business objectives into effective paid media strategies, keeping abreast of the latest industry trends and algorithm changes. You will collaborate closely with our content, revenue management, and sales teams to ensure a cohesive and integrated marketing approach, ultimately enhancing our online presence and achieving ambitious booking targets across our African Sun Hotels properties, particularly for our Kariba-based resort and similar destinations. Your work will directly impact our ability to attract and convert guests, making this a pivotal role in our digital growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage paid media strategies across Google Ads (Search, Display, Shopping, YouTube), social media, and other relevant platforms to drive direct bookings and online revenue.
  • Conduct thorough keyword research, audience targeting, and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities.
  • Manage and optimize paid media budgets, ensuring efficient spend and maximum ROI.
  • Design and execute A/B tests on ad copy, landing pages, and creative assets to continuously improve campaign performance.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as ROAS, CPA, CTR, and conversion rates, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (content, design, revenue management) to ensure ad campaigns are aligned with overall marketing objectives and brand guidelines.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, platform updates, and best practices in paid media and eCommerce marketing.
  • Identify and explore new advertising channels and technologies to expand reach and efficiency.
  • Provide regular performance updates and strategic recommendations to senior management.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in managing paid media campaigns for eCommerce or hospitality brands.
  • Proven expertise in Google Ads (Search, Display, Shopping, YouTube) and Facebook/Instagram Ads Manager.
  • Strong understanding of conversion rate optimization (CRO) principles and A/B testing methodologies.
  • Proficiency in web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics 4) for data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable strategies.
  • Demonstrable experience with budget management and achieving strong ROAS.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience with other paid media platforms such as LinkedIn Ads, TikTok Ads, or programmatic advertising.
  • Certifications in Google Ads and/or Facebook Blueprint.
  • Experience in the travel, tourism, or hospitality industry.
  • Familiarity with marketing automation platforms and CRM systems.
