Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis using various online databases and resources to support litigation cases.
  • Draft, review, and proofread a wide range of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests/responses, subpoenas, and correspondence.
  • Manage and organize case files, exhibits, and all discovery documents, maintaining both physical and electronic records with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials, including the creation of detailed trial binders and exhibit lists.
  • Summarize deposition transcripts, medical records, financial statements, and other relevant documents for attorney review.
  • Coordinate and manage e-discovery processes, including document collection, review, and production, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
  • Maintain professional and timely communication with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and third-party vendors as directed by attorneys.
  • Calendar and track critical deadlines, court dates, filing dates, and other important case milestones.
  • Perform various administrative tasks as needed to efficiently support the legal team and overall firm operations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Litigation Paralegal or Legal Assistant in a law firm setting.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state court rules, civil procedure, and litigation processes.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • High level of accuracy and dedication to producing error-free work.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program or equivalent education.
  • Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related field.
  • Experience with case management software (e.g., Clio, MyCase, PracticePanther).
  • Familiarity with e-discovery platforms (e.g., Relativity, Concordance, Everlaw).
  • Notary Public commission.
