Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a delivery vehicle to transport parcels to customers across Nottingham and surrounding areas.
- Load and unload parcels from the vehicle, ensuring packages are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Follow pre-planned routes and schedules, adapting to traffic and road conditions as necessary.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, interacting courteously and professionally with recipients.
- Accurately complete delivery documentation and use handheld scanning devices for proof of delivery.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the delivery vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations and company policies.
- Manage time effectively to meet demanding delivery targets and schedules.
- Maintain a clean and organised delivery vehicle.
Required Skills
- Valid UK Driving License (Category B) with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional driving experience.
- Ability to lift and carry parcels up to 25kg comfortably.
- Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with using GPS devices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage daily tasks effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in parcel delivery or courier services.
- Good knowledge of Nottingham and surrounding areas' road networks.
- Experience driving commercial vans or larger delivery vehicles.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety checks.
