Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly and monthly payroll for all employees.
- Perform data entry for new hires, terminations, changes in compensation, benefits deductions, and other payroll-related information.
- Maintain organized and confidential payroll records, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
- Help reconcile payroll data and assist with preparing payroll reports for review.
- Respond to routine employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and timekeeping in a professional and timely manner.
- Support the preparation of year-end payroll documents, such as T4s.
- Learn and apply knowledge of federal and provincial payroll legislation.
- Collaborate with the HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless information flow.
- Assist with special projects and other administrative tasks as assigned by the Payroll Manager.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education preferred.
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Enrollment or completion of a certificate/diploma in Accounting, Business Administration, or Human Resources.
- Basic understanding of payroll principles or related coursework.
