Key Responsibilities
- Manage and process monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure full compliance with German tax laws (EStG), social security regulations (SGB), and collective bargaining agreements.
- Prepare and submit all statutory declarations, including wage tax returns, social security contributions, and pension fund reports.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data, ensuring confidentiality and data protection (GDPR compliant).
- Handle employee queries regarding salaries, deductions, benefits, and other payroll-related matters.
- Collaborate closely with HR and finance departments to reconcile payroll data and resolve discrepancies.
- Stay updated on changes in German payroll legislation and implement necessary adjustments to payroll processes.
- Prepare detailed payroll reports for management and internal auditing purposes.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding payroll procedures, including severance payments and final settlements.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Payroll Officer or similar role in Germany.
- In-depth knowledge of German payroll laws, tax regulations, and social security contributions.
- Proficiency with standard payroll software (e.g., DATEV, SAP HCM).
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong numerical aptitude.
- High level of integrity and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Fluent in German (written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certification in payroll administration (e.g., Certified Payroll Specialist).
