Key Responsibilities

  • Sort and prepare mail and parcels for delivery according to established routes and procedures.
  • Deliver mail and parcels efficiently and accurately to residential and commercial addresses within Thunder Bay.
  • Operate company delivery vehicles safely and responsibly, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of mail and parcel deliveries, including any attempted deliveries or special instructions.
  • Handle customer inquiries and concerns professionally, providing assistance and information as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and security protocols to ensure the safe handling and transport of mail.
  • Perform routine checks and basic maintenance reporting for assigned vehicles.
  • Be able to work independently and manage time effectively to complete routes within designated schedules.
  • Process cash on delivery (COD) items, postage sales, and other financial transactions accurately if required.

Required Skills

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • Valid Ontario G Class Driver's License.
  • Clean driving record (abstract required upon request).
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly and perform physical tasks such as walking, standing, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).
  • Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in sorting and delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in delivery, courier services, or a similar physically demanding role.
  • Familiarity with Thunder Bay city routes and local geography.
  • Basic computer literacy for handheld devices and route management.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
