Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Power BI Analyst to join our growing data and analytics team in Montreal. This role requires a strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and advanced Power BI features.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to visualize key performance indicators and critical business metrics.
  • Connect to various data sources, perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes, and ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, understand their analytical needs, and translate them into effective Power BI solutions.
  • Develop complex DAX formulas and M queries to support advanced calculations and data manipulations.
  • Optimize Power BI reports for performance, scalability, and user experience.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI tools and reports.
  • Participate in data governance initiatives and contribute to data documentation efforts.
  • Stay updated with the latest Power BI features, industry trends, and best practices in business intelligence and data visualization.
  • Assist in the development of data models and data warehousing solutions.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Power BI Analyst or similar role (minimum 3 years)
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Power BI Desktop, including report development, dashboard creation, and data modeling.
  • Strong command of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and M language.
  • Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL for data querying and manipulation.
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Experience with Azure data services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics).
  • Familiarity with other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, QlikView).
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and predictive modeling concepts.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset.
