Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons across all subjects within the primary curriculum.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes active learning and student well-being.
- Assess, monitor, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of pupils.
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies to ensure a productive and safe learning space.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to support student learning and development.
- Actively participate in professional development activities and contribute to school improvement initiatives.
- Uphold the school's safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the welfare and safety of all children.
- Integrate technology appropriately into lessons to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
- Organise and lead extra-curricular activities or school events as required.
Required Skills
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognized teaching qualification in the UK.
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrable experience teaching primary-aged children (ages 4-11) in a UK school setting (minimum 2 years post-qualification).
- Native or near-native English fluency, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence.
- Proven ability to create engaging lesson plans and differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education or a specialist primary subject area.
- Experience working with English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners.
- Proficiency in additional languages.
- Evidence of leadership responsibilities or involvement in curriculum development projects.
- Experience with restorative practices or other specific behaviour management frameworks.
