Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive procurement strategies and policies.
- Lead and mentor a team of purchasing professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers globally and locally, ensuring competitive pricing and quality.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve optimal value and cost savings.
- Manage supplier relationships, monitoring performance against key metrics and resolving issues promptly.
- Oversee inventory levels and stock management to ensure optimal availability and minimize waste.
- Implement and manage risk mitigation strategies within the supply chain.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and all relevant regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Finance, Sales) to understand procurement needs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in purchasing processes and systems.
- Prepare and present regular reports on procurement performance, cost savings, and market trends to senior management.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field.
- Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrable experience in strategic sourcing, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to interpret complex data.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Sage).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Proven leadership abilities with experience in team development and performance management.
- Deep understanding of supply chain principles and best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or MBA in a relevant field.
- Professional certification such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or equivalent.
